Mrs. Juanita "Kate" Baggett Davis, age 93, of Rogersville, passed away at home after a brief illness on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. The visitation will be Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the funeral home with Bro. James Waddell and Bro. Bobby Walton officiating. Burial will follow in the Barkley Cemetery. Mrs. Davis was a member of New Hope Baptist Church for many years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend and was loved by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Freeman Davis, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by daughters, Jeanette Springer, Martha Thornton, Carolyn Tidwell, Sherry Smith and husband Dewey, and Brenda Thigpen and husband James; sons, Bobby Davis and wife Ruth and Harold Davis, all of Rogersville; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren a sister Ethel Lee Mayfield, Columbia, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Roger Thornton, Johnny Tidwell, Bobby Davis, Jerome Thigpen, Terry Thornton, Max Thornton, and Brian Davis. A special thanks to Mid South Home Care and Hospice of the Shoals.
