Katie Pearl Richardson, 89, Rogersville, passed away August 8, 2011. Mrs. Katie was a member of Center Star Baptist Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Her family and friends came next. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 9,2011, 6-8PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 10, 2011, 11AM at Elkins East Chapel, with Bro. Audie Bogus officiating. Burial will be at Barnett Cemetery. She was a stay at home wife and mother but worked very hard to take care of her family and friends. She could take almost nothing and figure out a way to feed whoever showed up at her table. Her door and her heart were always open to anyone with a need. She has been known to give always the best and sometimes the last of what she had. Mrs. Katie was preceded in death by her husband, Claudie W. Richardson, January 1, 1991. She is survived by four daughters, Betty Jane Smith (Glyn), Lucy Michael, Esther Corum, Kathy Smith; son, Billy Richardson (Patty); sister, Dean Willis; seven grandchildren, Tim Smith (Regina Ann), Regina Truitt, Jeff Michael, Vickie Springer (Bill), Jamie Allen (Randy), Greg Smith (Linda), and Michael Brock Richardson; twelve great-grandchildren, Kayla Gooch (Caleb), Mitchem Smith, Anna Truitt, Sarah Truitt, Colin Truitt, Cory Michael, Cole Michael, Zach Springer, Chad Springer, Wynn Springer, Kaile Allen, and Jaren Allen. She will be missed by all of these but welcomed by Jesus. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. The family offers special thanks to Dr. Patricia Auxier, Hospice Tennessee Valley, Bro. Audie Bogus, Bro. Earnie Taylor, her precious roommate Mrs. Virgie Horton, and each and every staff member and resident of El Reposo Nursing Facility.
