Kenneth Vernon White age 68 of Rogersville, passed away Monday November 5, 2012 after a hard fought battle with cancer. His visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6pm till 8pm at Elkins East Chapel. Service will be Wednesday 11am at Elkins East Chapel with Danny Stafford and David Myers officiating. Songs will be lead by Danny Wayne Putman. Burial will be at Harvey Cemetery. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sarah Hagood White. One son, Dennis Randall White of Elgin. One daughter, Pennie White Faulk (David) of Athens. Sister, Betty Jackson (Charles) of Rogersville. Brothers, Elmer White of Anderson, Royce Gene White (Faye) of Rogersville and Teddy White of Anderson. Sister-in-laws, Joann White of Rogersville and Rachel Hagood of Athens . Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded by his parents, Marvin and Oma White and brother William "Cotton" White. Kenneth was adored by his family and was a true example of a good neighbor and wonderful friend to all that knew him. He was a member of Center Star Church of Christ. Kenneth retired after 28 yrs from International Paper in 2001, then he ran a sawmill for a couple of years. He also raised cattle on his beloved Jerd Hill. He loved helping other people with projects and having his friends gather at his sawmill. Pallbearers will be Danny Dewayne Putman, Larry Newton, Carl Parker, David Ray White, Charles Baker and Spooner Davis. Honorary bearers will be Doyce Howard and Waylon Hill. The family would like to give a special thanks to Gentiva Home Health and Hospice Staff.
