DANVILLE
Lawrence Warren Herron, age 87, of Danville, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Elliott''s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Steve Ledbetter will be officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Spring Cemetery at Mt. Hope. Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Herron was born Dec. 25, 1928 in Alabama to Odis Herron and Hester Boyles Herron, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded by two brothers, Clayton "Buck" Herron and Wayne Herron; and by one sister, June Herron Kitchens. Mr. Herron was a veteran of the Korean War and a retired school teacher in Business Education from Speake School after 30 years. He was a member of Hickory Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Mt. Hope and attended Enon Baptist Church in Danville. Mr. Herron loved deer and turkey hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine McCaghren Herron; three nephews, Ronnie Herron, Jim Herron, and Pete Kitchens; and one niece, Robin.
Pallbearers will be Larry Terry, Don Johnson, Danny Porter, Johnny Porter, Pete Kitchens, and Hoyt McCaghren.
