On the morning of September 4, 2017, Lilyan "Pete" Scharfschwerdt, Passed Away at ECM Hospital.

Pete was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Frankie Brown; her husband, Edward Scharfschwerdt; her niece, Debbie Prestridge; and great niece Samantha Prestridge.

She is Survived by her sons, Judson Emens (Donna) and Charles Emens (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Courtney Allen (Jay), Stacy McNatt (Rusty), Haylee Emens, and Nadia Emens; and her great grandchildren, Dalton McNatt, Emory McNatt, Henley McNatt, Eli Allen, Greyson Allen; sister, Verma Lois (Sissy) McCollum; nephew, James "Butch" McCollum, great nieces Shana O''Grady (Chris), Julie Matejka (Dickie).

Pete was a devoted member of First Christian Church in Florence.

Pete, as she was affectionately known, will be dearly missed. She loved her family, her friends, traveling, her church, all animals, but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A brief graveside service will be held for the family on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 10:00 am, at Tri-Cites Memorial Gardens. officiated by Dr. Robert H. Stegall. A celebration of life will follow at Pete''s home in Florence on the same day from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
