Linda Joyce Gibson, 76, of Rodgersville passed away on March 31, 2020. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert D. Gibson; parents, Bennett and Evelyn Murphy; her brother, Bennett Murphy Jr.; and her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth England.
She is survived by her children, Timothy Gibson (Carolyn), Melissa Townsend (Jeffery), Gilbert Delonie (Fatty) Gibson Jr., Michelle Simbeck (Bobby), Jerry Gibson (Stacy); her grandchildren, Jonathan Gibson (Drea), Justin Townsend (Kristi), Valerie Gibson, Jamie Goodwin (Elizabeth), Kimberly Simbeck, Andy Gibson (Tabrina), Kristal Goodloe (Tez), Kelly Horrison (Ervin), Amy Dayton (Zack), Maria Mejia (Jayro), Maia Gibson, Madi Gibson; her great-grandchildren, Eriel Gibson, Ethan Gibson, Gabriel Goodwin, Emiliano Mejia, Tyler Lovell, Chelsea Lovell, Mea Goodloe, Liam Townsend, Devan Gordan, Andrew England, Austin Gibson, Austin Pigg, Ava Horrison, Destin Campbell, Isaiah Campbell; siblings, JoAnn Murphy Tibbs, Barbara Scott (R.C), Billy Murphy (Susan); and many neices and nephews.
She was a member of theNew Hope Baptist Church, she enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and puzzles. She was asked if there was a way that she would like to be remembered and her answer was that she hoped to be remembered as a good Mother, Grandmother, friend, sister, and neighbor that loved everybody. That she loved Jesus and hopes to walk on the streets of gold someday.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all of her caregivers for their love, support, and prayers.
There will be a private graveside service at Hurricane Cemetery on Saturday 4, 2020. Ethan Gibson will be officiating the service. Arrangements were entrusted to Elkins East Chapel.
