Linda Hayes Hendon, 48, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 16, 2012. Visitation will be Sunday, March 18, 2012, from 12-2PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2PM in the chapel with Bro. Steve McCaig and Bro. Bennie Terry officiating. Burial will be at Bluewater Cemetery. Mrs. Hendon had an amazing smile, and was quick to give you all she had, expecting nothing in return. She worked at Johnson Day Care and Riverbend Mental Health Center until she married the love of her life and made her house a home to anyone who walked thru her doors. On any given Saturday you could hear her yell and scream over an Alabama touchdown or an Atlanta Braves homerun. She was a member of Cottontown Baptist Church. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, and nanna. Not to mention a friend to many. She was a pillar of faith and inspiration for her family. She is already missed, may her legacy last thru the ages until we meet again. She was preceded in death by J. L. and Louise Hayes, Denice Hayes, Johnnie Hayes, Jimmy Hendon, and Wylodean Hendon. Mrs. Hendon leaves behind a husband, Donnie Hendon; children, Cristi Hendon, Kelly Hendon, Kristi Odom, and Arica Hendon; grandchildren, Kelbi Underwood, Kaydyn and Ashton Hendon, Codie, Tyler, and Haley Terry; sisters, Carolyn Tharp, Joni Rock, Rebecca Hayes, Rana Terry, and Patti Moore. Pallbearers will be Codie Terry, Tyler Terry, Brian Miller, Shawn Miller, Randy Askew, Chuck Terry, Keith Woods, and Billy McBride. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Miller.
