Mrs. Linda Larsen Hodge, age 69, of Killen, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013 at her home following a lengthy illness.
A memorial service to remember her life will be Saturday, September 28, 2013, at the Killen United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bryan McIntyre officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 2:30 p.m. until service time.
Linda graduated from high school in Parkville, MD and attended the University of Maryland for two years where she met her husband Charles. She graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Home Economics Education in 1966.
In 1969, Linda, her husband and two sons, moved to Florence, Alabama and then to Killen, Alabama in 1975 where she had three more sons.
Linda was an active member in the United Methodist Church all her life where she taught every Sunday school class from the nursery level up through the 10th grade. For the last 37 years she had been a member of the Killen United Methodist Church. At the Sheffield United Methodist Church she was a secretary and Office Manager for 14 years.
For most of her adult life she enjoyed restoring antiques and had an antique booth for 15 years in Florence.
Linda is survived by her husband Charles Hodge; sons Stephen Hodge and wife Karen of Pueblo, CO, Andrew Hodge and wife Colleen Wilson-Hodge of Huntsville, AL, Howard Hodge and wife Mirela of Decatur, AL, David Hodge and wife Kate Kithil-Hodge of East Lansing, MI, and Daniel Hodge and wife Sara Schalliol-Hodge of Anchorage, AK; grandchildren Sydney Hodge, Isabella Hodge, Wesley Hodge, Tove Hodge, Lucas Hodge, and Osa Hodge; brothers John Larsen of Hingham, MA, and Paul Larsen and wife Barbara of Uniontown, OH; a sister Karen Simon of Towson, MD.
