Limestone County Memorial service for Linda Jo Thomas, 69, will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with the Rev. Charles Boling officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home. Mrs. Thomas was born on Dec. 8, 1940, in McKenzie, Tenn. to Joe and Maxie Brush-Burroughs. She died on Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Thomas came to Decatur in 1961, and taught girls physical education at Decatur High School and later joined her husband at Thomas Town House Furniture. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John R. Thomas, Sr.; one son, John R. Thomas Jr. and wife, Heather; one daughter, Jana Thomas and Rebecca Lackey; one sister, Janie Hopewell and husband, John; four grandchildren, Trae, Evan, Ethan and Kara Thomas. The family would like to thank the staff of Limestone County Hospice and caregivers, JoAnn, Amanda, Doris, and Nancy. Donations may be made to Limestone County Hospice, American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
