Lloyd Wayne Mitchell
February 8, 1938-November 15, 2013

Wayne Mitchell found his piece of paradise on the Tennessee River, carefully tending his garden after 45 years of service as director of the radiology dept at Decatur Morgan hospital. Wayne was also an Ambassador of the Jaycee''s serving as Morgan County Fair Chairman in 1974, as well as a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. Wayne''s presence was oftentimes felt, rather than heard. He was a man of little words and gentle strength. The Quiet loving kindness he shared with those of us he loved will live on in our hearts forever. He will truly be missed.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 42 years Sue Lewis Mitchell; Children Kirt Mitchell
(Ainsley) Michele Strickland (Jimmy); Eric Mitchell; Stephen Mitchell (Becky). His Grandchildren Chris Mitchell; Sydney Strickland (Nate); Clay Strickland; Jonathan Mitchell; Cameron Allen and Riley Mitchell. Sister Martha Mitchell. Brothers Maurice Mitchell (Jo-Ann) and Gary Mitchell (MaryAnn) Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday November 20, 2013 from 12:30 until 2:00 pm with a service at 2:00 pm at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Toby E. Mueller officiating and burial at the Decatur city cemetery. The family request donations be directed to your favorite charity, the Rotary Foundation; Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation or Calhoun Education Foundation.
