Funeral for Lois Ann Meyer Olson, 91, formerly of Decatur, will be Thursday, August 15, 2013, at 1 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Eddie Scheler officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Olson, who died Sunday, August 11, 2013, was born May 24, 1922, in Detroit, Michigan, to George Albert Bonk Sr. and Ella Sprutte Bonk. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Norman John Meyer and Stanley I. Olson; brother, George Albert Bonk Jr.; sister, Adree Difloe; and her parents. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Meyer Handley of Birmingham and Marilyn Meyer Cox (Jim) of Crane Hill; one grandchild, Ashley A. Handley of Birmingham; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
