Lola Creel Aune, age 103, entered her eternal home on Monday September 17 ^th , 2018 following a brief illness.  She was born September 13, 1915 in Posey's Mill, Alabama, to Ella Leonie and Joseph Creel.

She is survived by her loving husband of 30 + years, Henrik J. Aune, daughter Jan P. Billions (Joe), granddaughter Anne Marie Stanley (Brad), three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Will and Lola, stepsons Mark Aune (Lisa), Tom Aune (Patsy) and Bruce Aune.

Mrs. Aune's life-long purpose was to be a servant to and ambassador for The Lord Jesus Christ.  Her greatest joy was to share her precious gift of faith with others in order that they might come to know the saving grace and mercy of Jesus Christ.  She considered her friends and family her greatest treasures on this earth.  Gratitude and thanksgiving were her mantra, knowing that God works for good with those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 20, 12:30 pm, at First Christian Church, 700 North Wood Ave., Florence, AL 35630.  Visitation will be from 10:30 to 12:15 pm at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Discretionary Fund at First Christian Church or to The Presbyterian Home for Children, P.O. Drawer 577, Talladega, AL 35161, Attn:  Amanda Scott.
