Mrs. Lola B. Ayers, age 93, of Florence, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at her home after a lengthy illness.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Elkins Funeral Home Friday beginning at 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Mike Pope officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Ayers attended Jacksonville State University and Florence State College and dedicated her life to young people teaching fourth grade at Harlan School for 30 years. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed yard work. The result of her efforts was a perfectly manicured yard and shrubbery. She was a member of ADK and active in First United Methodist Church, Florence, for 60 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandi Ayers-Rosellini, of Redmond, Wa.; and grandson, Michael Rosellini, of Seattle, Wa.; niece, Betty Cowart and husband, Dale; nephews, Larry Clements and wife, Sue, Charles Clements and wife, Sharon, of Davenport, Fla., Rodney Clements and wife, Coralee, of Gainesville, Fla., Gary Clements and wife, Debbie, of Okeechobee, Fla.; 13 great-nieces and nephews; 32 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Larry Clements, Oscar Easley, Roy Stevens, Rivers Lindsey, Van Morgan and Bob Torbert. Members of the W.A. Graham Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family thanks Gentiva Hospice, especially Ruthann, Kim and Sandy.
