Lucile Owen
Smith
December 15, 1919 – March 5, 2018
Lucile Owen Smith was born to Robert and Nettie Owen on December 15, 1919 in Danville, Alabama. She grew up in a wonderful Christian family with her brothers, Arthur, Alton and Dee. Recalling memories of her Grandpa Aldridge, a circuit riding Methodist preacher was a favorite memory of hers.
Lucile married John Rolf Smith and they had 2 daughters, Linda Davis and Mary Beth Smith. Life, for her, was centered around God, her faith in God, her precious family and her "church family" at 9th Street United Methodist Church, where she was a member for over 65 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and grandson Ted Davis. She is survived by her daughters, grandsons, Tim Davis, Michael Smith, and Matthew Smith, granddaughters, Michelle Davis and Ashley Smith Patterson, 5 great-granddaughters, 6 great-grandsons and 2 great-great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel and a service at 3 p.m. on Wednesday March 7, 2018 with Rev. Randy VanLandingham officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons; great-grandson, Jonathan Davis and nephews, Jim Owen and Larry McAbee.
