Funeral for Luis Cervantes, 80, of Decatur will be Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 4 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Father Ramon Salazar officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Mr. Cervantes, who died Sunday, March 28, 2010, was born July 24, 1929, in Michoacan, Mexico, to Jose Maria Cervantes and Juana Manzo Cervantes. GE transferred him from Chicago, Ill., to the Decatur Plant. He was employed by GE for 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Fidelia Gomez Cervantes; one son, Jesus Cervantes (Michelle) of Hartselle; two daughters, Lupe Arevalo (Richard) of Chicago, Ill., and Maria DeLaLuz Cervantes (Risoberto Garcia) of Decatur; five grandchildren, Natalie Smith, Jonathan Luis Cervantes, Yesenia Cervantes, Nicholas James Cervantes and Mateo Anthony Arevalo; one brother, Enrique Cervantes of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Marie Cervantes De Castillo (Jesus Castillo) of Michoacan, Mexico.
