Lyn Tallman Murphy, 60, of Florence died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at her residence.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Elkins Funeral Home from 12-1 PM. There will be a private burial service following.

Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Bradshaw High School and UNA where she received a double major in Art and History. She was a charter member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority at UNA. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church Florence and was in the Mother Singers Choir. She volunteered her services for the Great Cypress Raft Races. She enjoyed world travels with her husband Vincent, photography, and the Arts.

She is survived by her husband Vincent Murphy; daughters, Jennifer Wright Miller and April Wright Harrison; mother Marilyn B. Tallman; grandchildren Justin Gage Miller, Caitlin Paige Miller, Devin Aaron Harrison, and Emma Claire Southern; sister Anne Tallman Davis (Michael William); brother Douglas Parker Tallman (Debbie); niece Katherine Gourgeot, six nephews Brian, Ryan, and Daniel Tallman, Andrew, Tyler, and William Davis; favorite pets Felix, Bear, and Windy.

Pallbearers will be Justin Gage Miller, Devin Harrison, Brian Tallman, Daniel Tallman, Andrew Davis, William Davis, and Tyler Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Robinson, Doug Tallman, and Randy Nelson.

Mrs. Murphy family would like to express thanks to ECM 5th West Staff, Dr. R. Irons, and Dr. J. Haggstrom, extra special thank you to Amedisys Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Learning Center and the American Cancer Society.
