Mrs. Mabel Kimbrough Willingham, 98, passed away on June 25, 2012.
She was a loving, Christian woman who loved her family more than anything else. Whenever you went to her house, it didn''t matter what was going on, at that moment it became all about you and what was going on in your life. She was an example to everyone of what a mother and grandmother should be.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Wesley Willingham; brothers Maynard and Marvin Kimbrough; sisters Methyl Kimbrough, Mildred Collins, Marjorie Clark and Mary Anna Black.
She is survived by one daughter Barbara Harris; three grandchildren Jeff Whitten (Sabrina) of Florence, David Whitten (Jennifer) of Ocean Springs, MS and Jason Whitten of Foley, AL; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence, on Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. The graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Tuscumbia Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Carl Gebhardt will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Josh Willingham Foundation, P.O. Box 2194, Florence, AL 35630.
A special thanks to all the caregivers at Mitchell-Hollingsworth.
