Mrs. Mallie Elizabeth Dunn Daily, of Florence, passed away Friday, January 20, 2012. She was 103 years old.
The funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Elkins Funeral Home Chapel with Mark White, Harold Comer and Curtis Flatt officiating. The family received friends on Monday evening and will again from 12:00 until service time on Tuesday. Burial will follow the service at the Florence City Cemetery.
Mrs. Daily was a life-long member of College View Church of Christ. She was an avid artist and her paintings were shown in many art shows. She was affectionately known as "Mimi" by her family whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death in 1974 by her husband B.J. Daily, Sr., the owner of Dixie Tire Co., and by sisters Rebecca Dunn Frisbee and Winnie Dunn Roberts and brothers William and James Dunn.
Mrs. Daily is survived by a daughter Patricia Roberts of Stockbridge, Georgia; a son Jess Daily and wife Rania of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren Lara Long and husband Brian of Peachtree City, Georgia, Krista Ellington and husband Steve of McDonough, Georgia, Lisa Hembree and husband Cliff of Northport, Alabama; Seth Daily, Luke Daily and Noah Daily, all of Los Angeles; great-grandchildren Ansley Long, Hayden Long, Addison Long, Ella Long, Christopher Fields, Camryn Fields, Carson Ellington and Pate Hembree; nieces Margaret Jenkins and Barbara Holt; nephew Allen Bolton.
Pallbearers will be Robert Griffin, Sr., Rob Hibbett, James Parrish, Steve Ellington, Brian Long and Cliff Hembree. Honorary bearers will be the Elders and Deacons of College View Church of Christ.
