Visitation for Marcus L. "Curley" Blackwell, 85, of Decatur will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home. Burial will be in Jackson, Miss.

Mr. Blackwell died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at his residence. He was born October 5, 1928, in Gadsden to the late Marcus Blackwell and LeLa Blair-Blackwell. He started working in the Bakery at the age of 12 until his retirement. During that time he served in the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Margueritte McCurry Blackwell; two sons, David and George Blackwell; one daughter, Barb Lopez; one stepson, Joe McCurry; two stepdaughters, Tommie Moore and Pattie Miller; one brother, Leonard Blackwell; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
