Funeral for Margaret Jolly Poole, 91, of Falkville will be Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, 11 a.m. at Ridout's BrownService Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Nappier of Piney Grove Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Poole, who died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at Hartselle Medical Center, was born Oct. 18, 1915, in Decatur to Elbert Lee and Martha Jolly. She was a retired nurse, having worked at both Baugh, Wiley, Smith Hospital and Hartselle Medical Center. She loved playing the organ and piano, working cryptograms, tending to her flowers and numerous forms of handicrafts. Over the years, her favorite handicrafts were crocheting, decoupage and making beautiful handmade Christmas ornaments. She was a member of Piney Grove Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, C.A. Poole Jr.; brother, Elbert Lee Jolly; and sisters, Louise Seitz, Lila Farrow and Elizabeth Livingston. Survivors include her son, Chris Poole and his wife, Sandy, of Overland Park, Kan.; daughters, Linda Holmes and her husband, Gerry, and Mary Elizabeth Hogan of Falkville; grandchildren, Mike Holmes, Rodney Holmes, Jeff Holmes, Kerri Waters, Lisa Duncan, Barry Poole and Dani Poole; and great-grandchildren, Alex Holmes, Christina Holmes, Jason Collier and Lindsay Collier. Pallbearers will be Gerry Holmes, Mike Holmes, Rodney Holmes, Jeff Holmes, Jeremy Waters and Jeremy Duncan. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley. Published in the Decatur Daily on 9/14/2007.
