Marguerite Davis Truitt, age 82, of Florence passed away on Saturday September 13, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services for Mrs. Truitt will be at 11am on Monday September 15, 2008 at Edgemont United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Bagwell officiating. Burial will follow in Springfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Truitt was an active member of Edemont United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was an LPN at the Florence Clinic for 34 years, assisting Dr. Lester Norvell and later Dr. Robert Yoder. Mrs. Truitt is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie Arthur and Lucy Belle Davis of Springfield, AL, two brothers, Arvil and Lendon Davis, and one sister, Earline McKee.
Mrs. Truitt is survived by her husband, Robert Almon Truitt; her children, Jerry Truitt(Becky) of Big Canoe, GA, and Bobbie Smith(Tom) of Corinth, MS; her grandchildren, Jennifer Lamb(Steve) of Memphis, TN, Mandy Taylor(Drew) of Falls Church, VA, Lesley Wainwright(Trey) of Atlanta, GA, and Jessica Hudson(Jason) of Germantown, TN; her great grandchildren, Carter and Lucy Lamb of Memphis, TN, Truitt Taylor of Falls Church, VA, and Ali Wainwright of Atlanta, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Marshall, David Irons, Waylon Mitchell, Larry Davis, Jimmy Davis, and Kenneth Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be James McKee, Raymond Davis, and Robert Lash.
