Marie Hendry
Peachtree City, Ga. Marie Hendry went to be with God and join her husband, Paul, and son, Gary, on Dec. 9, 2008. Born in East Tennessee on Dec. 18, 1916, she was the youngest of 12 children. She graduated from Mosheim High School as salutatorian and lettered in basketball three years. On May 15, 1937, she married her high school sweetheart, Paul, and had two sons, Gary and Don. The family moved to Decatur in 1957, where they joined St. John''s Episcopal Church. Marie was active in the Alter Guild and was Chairwoman for several terms. She is survived by her son, Don, and his wife, Cheryl; daughter-in-law, Anna Marie; grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Tina, Christopher and his wife, Mary, Rene and her husband, Scott, Robert and his wife, Mary Paul, William and his wife, Cathy, and Katrina and her fianc, Raphael; and 12 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held in her honor at St. John''s Episcopal Church at 10 a.m., Jan. 3, 2009, with a reception following in the Parish Hall.
