Visitation for Marie Mozell Latham Moon (96), of Ryans Crossroads, will be Saturday, August 27,
2022, at 1 p.m. at Rideout-Brown Service Funeral Home in Decatur. Memorial services will
follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Hartselle at Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Moon was born October 18, 1925 at home in Cullman County to Lewis Motorville Latham
and Eula Chambers Latham. She passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at her residence. Mrs.
Moon attended Ryan High School. She loved caring for her family, vegetable and flower
gardening, jewelry making, sewing and making ceramics. She was active with Ryan Baptist
Church. She and Audrey were high school sweethearts and were married for 72 years.
Mrs. Moon was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Audrey "A.E." Moon, three
brothers (Hershel Latham, Hoyt Latham and Arnet Latham), three sisters (Mildred Thrower, Inez
Eudy and Sue Greene) and her son-in-law (Paul Carlton). She is survived by one sister, Virginia
Briscoe, one son, Harlan Moon (Edith), one daughter, Elaine Carlton; grandchildren, Edward
Carlton (Cherie), David Carlton (Heather), Donald Carlton (Heather), and Thomas Carlton
(Rebecca); and great-grandchildren, Jessica, Chase, Evan, Kristin (Brian), Lance, and Lana. Pall
bearers will be family and friends.
