Obituary

On October 17, 2009, our sweet daddy, Marion B. Butler Jr. danced his last dance. Visitation will be from 5-8 Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Elkins East Chapel funeral home. A celebration of life will be held Monday, October 19, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Butler cemetery.
Mr. Butler was retired from Reynolds after 26 years of service. He was a native of Lauderdale county and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII aboard the USS South Dakota. Mr. Butler established Florence Upholstery Company in 1952.
He is survived by his daughters: Patsy D. Butler (Ricky) of Killen, Pam Butler of Rogersville and Paula Dillon (Kelly) of Killen. Son: Luther Gregory Butler (Debbie) of Lexington. Stepson: Randall Moss (Jeannine) of Brunswick, Ga. Brother: Travis Butler (Wynett) of Anderson. 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. And friend Rebecca Haraway Butler of Brunswick, GA..
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion B. Butler Sr. and Jimmie Lee Butler. Sisters: Kathleen Britton and Elora Putman.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to Hospice of the Shoals.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Shoals or St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
J.R. loved dancing and being with his many many friends. Each of you held a special place in his heart. So as you all continue to dance, dance one for him.
