Funeral for Marion "Mac" Laxson, 77, of Decatur, will be Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service with Brother Bill Irby officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Laxson, who died Saturday, December 8, 2012, was born on May 11, 1935, in Athens to William and Retha Laxson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sarah Elizabeth Laxson; 3 brothers, Melvin, John, Clifton Laxson; and sister, Arline Pressnell.

Mr. Laxson is survived by his son, William Laxson and wife Christine V. of Sweetwater, TN; brothers, Mahlon Laxson of Chicago, IL and Joe Laxson and wife Douglas; sisters, Ruby Singer and Linda Carter and husband Donald all of Athens and Faye Cox of Atlanta; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy and Jacob, all of Arizona
