Funeral for Marjorie Cook Barber, 87, of Decatur will be Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Ben Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Barber, who died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born Oct. 3, 1921, in Haleyville to William E. Cook and Lillie Mae Bates Cook. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge N. Barber; and son, Robert Norman Barber. Survivors include one son, William "Bill" Barber and his wife, Elaine; brother, Dick Cook of Birmingham; sister, Billie Fortenberry of Haleyville; five grandchildren, Kevin Barber, Rob Barber, Michelle Jessup, Jennifer Barber and Samantha Ebert; and two great-grandchildren.
