Marjorie McElroy Russell of Decatur, age 86, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother as well as a partner with her late husband, Harold, at Automotive Paint and Parts Co. She was a member of Central Baptist Church for over fifty years and was always known for her beautiful smile. She was an excellent duplicate bridge player and also enjoyed volunteering at Decatur General Hospital. Marjorie is survived by her three children, Pat R. Stewart (Barry), Richard Russell (Tina), and Randall Russell (Mary); grandchildren, Lauren Bowden (Jason), Reece Russell and Wynne Russell; siblings, Lloyd McElroy (Mary), Betty Moore (Huland), Van McElroy (Barbara) and Joann Jones (William); as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Harold R. Russell, brothers Hansel McElroy and Royce McElroy. The family will receive friends at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 12pm to 2pm with a funeral service to follow in the chapel with Rob Jackson officiating, burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers are William Jones, Clark Jones, Kirk Jones, Terry Moore, Jeff McElroy, Jerry Jolly and Harold Reece Russell. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, Decatur, AL and the TLC Ministry of Central Baptist Church.
