Mark Steven Holloway, 51, went home to be with the Lord on May 31, 2008, with family and friends at his side. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home. The memorial service will follow at 7 p.m. with Bro. Scottie Hill officiat-ing. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Ray Holloway; both sets of grandparents, John Newton Holloway and Elgie Roan Holloway and Newton C. Thrasher Sr. and Clara Pickens Thrasher; and uncles, Newton C. Thrasher Jr. and Jack L. Thrasher. He is survived by his mother, Toni Louise Thrasher Holloway; one sister, Karon Denise Holloway Barber (Mark T.); one nephew, Daniel Barber; and two nieces, Lauren Barber and Hayley Barber. The Holloway family wants to thank and praise Hospice of the Valley for their love and care given to Mark, to Dr. Afram Hagagg and staff for their love, help and assistance, and to their many friends for their prayers, visits, food and many other acts of kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
