Martha H. Thomas Alexander Decatur
Funeral for Martha H. Thomas Alexander of Decatur will be Sunday, February 27, 2011 at 2:30 p.m., at Elliott Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Williams officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 to 2:30 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Alexander, who died Friday, February 25, 2011, was born July 20, 1949, in Jacksonville, Florida to Ormond Ferris Thomas and Minnie Lee Fine Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Alexander; son, David Alexander; and brother, Sidney Charles Thomas.
Survivors include daughter, DeShana Tyrka of Decatur; brother, George Thomas of Trinity; sister, Beatrice Thomas of Knoxville, Tennessee; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Hospice of the Valley and request that memorials be made to them at P.O. Box 2745, Decatur, AL 35602.
