Mrs. Martha Ann Parker, age 85, of Center Star, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 after a brief illness at NHC in Lawrenceburg, TN. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Center Star Church of Christ with Bill Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. The casket will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home. Mrs. Parker was the daughter of James Dallas Hamilton and Mary Maude Gist Hamilton and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She regularly shared her interest in local history with others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Burt Parker, a grandson, David Foulks, and a great-granddaughter, Zoe Parker. She is survived by her children, Mary Ann Foulks, Atlanta, GA, William B. Parker, Jr. and wife Brenda, Mt. Juliet, TN, Linda Bischoff and husband Bill, Birmingham, AL, Tom Parker and wife Vicky, Rogersville, Wade Parker and wife Sandi, Pelham, AL, and Carol Collins, Oak Ridge, TN; grandchildren, Leahbeth Walker, Jennifer Parker, Nichole Parker, Tommy James, Andy James, Molly James, Clay Parker, Leslie Pace, Bradley Parker, Nick Parker, Eric Hayes, Erin Dankworth, Elliott Collins, Shanda Patterson and Jamie Stokes; eighteen great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tommy James, Andy James, Clay Parker, Bradley Parker, Nick Parker, Eric Hayes, Elliott Collins, James Stokes and Josh James. The family extends special thanks to good friends and neighbors.
