Martha Ann Thigpen Bass, 87 of Florence passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2018 at her home. Graveside service will be held Friday May 11, 2018 at 11:30 A.M. Brother Danny Whitehead will be officiating. Burial will be at Tri- Cities Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elliott Millard Bass; son- in-law, Carl McGrady; grandson, Lucas McGrady; parents, Edgar and Dorothy Thigpen; sister, Mae Newton; brothers, Marvin and John Thigpen.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam McGrady; grandchildren Anna Kate Stumpe (Bradley); great-grandchildren, Colton and Rane McGrady, Charlotte Stumpe; sisters, Dorothy McCanless and Mary Jane Fowler (Philip); and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bass was a graduate of Coffee High school. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher, clerk/secretary, and choir member. She enjoyed crocheting; working puzzles and baby sitting; but most of all she was a loving Christian Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Pallbearers will be Colton McGrady, Lane McCanless, Adam McCanless, Kevin McCanless, Greg McCanless, and Chuck Harrison.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Rane McGrady, Sonny Grace McCanless, and Charlotte Stumpe.

The Family would like to offer special thanks to Kindred Hospice and caregiver Cindy Juelfs.

In Lieu of Flowers memorial donations may be made to the Central Heights Baptist Church.
