Mrs. Mary Easter Parrish Bevis was born April 17, 1927 on Easter Sunday to John and Margie Parrish at Wrights in Waterloo, AL. She passed away April 26, 2010 in Savannah, TN at the age of 83. Her family will receive friends at Cloverdale Church of Christ from 12-2 pm Wednesday, April 28. Perry Taylor and Sonny Bogus will officiate the funeral beginning at 2 pm at the church. Burial will follow in the adjourning cemetery. Mary was baptized into Christ when she was 18 years old. She has been a faithful member of Cloverdale Church of Christ for around 58 years. She helped with the VA Chicken Stew and also at Cloverdale School. She was a member of the Quilting Community at the Cloverdale Senior Citizen Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Edward Bevis; son-in-law, Johnny Darby; parents, John and Margie Parrish; brothers, Doyle, Dalton, and V.L. Parrish; and a sister, Gertrude Ahonen. She is survived by her son, Dennis G. Bevis, of Center Star; daughter, Jackie Darby and husband Ronnie, of Cypress Inn, TN; granddaughters, Bridget Bevis and husband Eugen, of Auburn, Misty Bevis, of Birmingham; grandsons, Cody and Eric Darby; great granddaughters, Madison and Ashlyn; a brother, Howard Parrish and wife Wanda, of Underwood, AL; and a sister, Sally Kante and husband Albert, of Michigan. Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make donations to the Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
