Mrs. Mary Ann Blazer, age 76 of Killen, passed away at her home on June 6, 2026 surrounded by her family. Funeral services in her honor will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Anderson on Saturday, June 13, 2026 beginning at 3pm with Bill Barlow and Kip McKee officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the services and will begin at 1pm. Burial will immediately follow the services at the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Ron Jones officiating.
Mrs. Blazer was the loving wife of Mr. Gene Blazer for 53 years. They had a bond that was unbreakable, and he was able to care for her for the last months of her life. During this time, their bond only became stronger. Mrs. Blazer loved her family and cherished every moment with them, as they did with her. And she especially loved her grandchildren. She was the glue of the family with a beautiful heart and soul. She genuinely cared for everyone that crossed her path.
She was the life of the party. One of hers, and her family’s, favorite pastimes were playing games, camping and family beach time. She enjoyed reading and found her happy place in flowers and plants. She and Mr. Blazer have traveled through 48 states on the back of a Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, a memory that will be cherished greatly.
Mrs. Blazer worked as a hairdresser all of her life. Her specialty was scissor cutting hair.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mr. Gene Blazer; children, Amy Mull (Dennis), Carrie Ann Hale (Brian), and McCage Blazer (Marissa); grandchildren, Lillie Mull, Allie Long (Andrew), and Addyson Hale; and a one month old great granddaughter, Maylee Ann Long; brother, Caroll Henson (Jessie); and aunt, Thelma Surrett.
She preceded in death by her parents, Nelson and Inez Henson; granddaughter, Savannah Lee; brother, Wayne Henson; and aunt, Lucille Heatherly.
Pallbearers for the service will be her nephews from North Carolina, Gary Henson, Larry Henson, and Roger Henson; Dean Free, Cory White, and Perry Gooch. Jimmy Mason and Paul Pounders will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Lindsey Lane Christian Academy Dyslexia Department.
Elkins East Chapel is honored to be assisting the family.
