Mary Lauderdale Blizzard, 91, was born June 10, 1917, to Eula and Thomas Lauderdale. The youngest of four children, Mary was born and raised in Hartselle, and graduated from Morgan County High School. She was married to Louis Blizzard who preceded her in death. Mary was a longtime resident of the Old Decatur neighborhood. She attended First Baptist Church and was a member of the Faithful Sunday School Class. She served as a Sunday School teacher, Red Cross volunteer, and worked with the Girl Scouts. Mary exemplified neighborliness and was a dear friend to many. She often said, "I love living and I love people." Her life reflected her words. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and friends who will continue to be enriched by her spirit and memory. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
