Mary Olivia Gautney

Mary Olivia Gautney, age 90, of Killen, passed away July 28, 2013. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. at Elkins East and a memorial service will be at 11 a.m. at Elkins East Chapel with Brother Bryan McIntyre officiating.

Olivia was a member of the Killen United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a graduate of Lauderdale County High School and the Larrimore Business School and was formerly employed as a secretary for the TVA Forestry Department at Muscle Shoals and Norris, Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Larry L. Gautney Sr., of Killen; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fuqua, Sr.; brother, Lewis Fuqua, Jr.; sister, Judy Newbern, all of Rogersville; brother-in-law, Thomas Zarger of Knoxville, TN; and granddaughter, Laura Gautney Black of Birmingham, AL.

Survivors include sons, Larry L. Gautney Jr. (Nancy), Florence, Russell L. Gautney (Linda), Tuscumbia; daughter Laura Houke (Hank), Florence; grandchildren Timothy Gautney (Martha), Muscle Shoals; Amber Lentz (Matt), Hope Mills, NC; Haley Houke, Athens, GA and grand son-in-law Bill Black, Birmingham. Great-Grandchildren Will, Gracy, and Caroline Black and Elizabeth, Isabella, Gabriella, and Ava Gautney. Sisters Jeanette Zarger, Knoxville, TN; Joyce Cagle (Eugene), Rogersville; Virginia Horton (Cowden), Florence; sister-in-law Ruth Ann Fuqua and brother-in-law Don Newbern, Rogersville, and several nieces and nephews.
