Mary Louise Schlosser Hyatt Moulton
Funeral for Mary Louise Schlosser Hyatt, 83, of Moulton will be Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Annunciation of the Lord Catholic Church in Decatur with Father Ray Remke officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Wolfpen Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at Elliott Funeral Home in Moulton.
Mrs. Hyatt, who died Sunday, May 9, 2010, was born on January 6, 1927, in Jefferson County to Lee Francis Schlosser and Louise Helen Barker Schlosser. She was the widow of Rayford Hyatt. Mrs. Hyatt volunteered with the Lawrence County Archives. She was very active in starting two Catholic churches, one in Haleyville and the other in Moulton. She was a founding member of the Resurrection Catholic Chapel in Moulton. Mrs. Hyatt worked as a dental hygienist for many years in Cullman, Courtland, Moulton and Decatur.
Mrs. Hyatt is survived by two sons, Daniel L. Hyatt (Sonja) and Robert "Bobby"Hyatt; one daughter, Shirley Hyatt Robinson (Gary); three grandchildren, Clifton Walden, Brian Hyatt (Teresa) and Julie Hyatt; two great-grandchildren, Noelle Hyatt and Reese Hyatt; two sisters-in-law, Glenda Hyatt Watts and Florentine Schlosser; and a host of nephews and nieces.
