Rita Eades, 75, of Florence passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at ECM Hospital. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Elkins Funeral Home in Florence.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Carey and Mattie Matthews, brother Eddie Matthews, and sister Carolyn Morris

She is survived by: her son Tim Eades (Shirley), and daughter Alicia Haddock (Russell), granddaughter Kristen Smith, and great granddaughter Chloe Santos.

Mrs. Eades was a cancer survivor and an avid supporter of all cancer organizations. She also served as a past secretary for the Muscle Shoals Horns.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
