Mary McDaniel, 29, of Florence passed away on July 28, 2020. Mary was a very talented singer, performing in numerous musical theaters with Linda Young. She was also a very talented soccer player, the captain of the Color Guard in Rogers High School Band, was very involved in volunteering with the Lauderdale Humane Society, and an active member of the Cross Roads Baptist Church.

She received two BS degrees from UNA in both Chemistry and Physics in 2016, as well as receiving the National Women in Physics award in 2014 as a student. She was also published for each of her majors and was a research assistant for Dr. Blake in the astronomy department at UNA.

Mary is survived by her parents, John and Lenita McDaniel; her brother, Matt (Meghin) McDaniel; nieces and nephews, Lizzy McDaniel, Jaiden McDaniel, Lucas McDaniel, Keira McDaniel; and aunt, Renee (Jeff Confer) McDaniel.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harold and Reba Posey; paternal grandparents, Harold and Lena McDaniel; and great-aunt, Ginger Gutierrez.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary's name to the Rogers High School Memorial Band Fund or PAWS Animal Shelter.

Visitation will be held for Mary on Monday, August 3, 2020 at Cross Roads Baptist Church from 11:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M. with service to follow at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Tim Akors will be officiating the service. Friends and family are to serve as pallbearers.
