Mary Ruth Norris Smith, 87, of Rogersville died Thursday, April 7, 2016, at ECM Hospital.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2016, 10 AM to 1 PM at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM in the Chapel with The Reverend William H. Smith and grandsons officiating. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Smith was a graduate of Gargis High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was the sewing instructor for Singer Sewing Company in Tuscaloosa and Huntsville, Alabama. She was a minister''s wife and was a teacher''s aide with the Lauderdale County Board of Education.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Norris; sister and brother in law, Esther and James Wallace; nephew, Roger Wallace.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, The Reverend William H. Smith; daughter, Ruth Haynes (Donnie); son, James L. Smith; two grandsons, Joshua B. Haynes and Thomas H. Haynes.

Pallbearers will be Paul Bingham, James Bingham, Donald Bailey, Tim Wilson, Mike Willis, and Wayne Killen. Honorary pallbearers will be Ministers of the North Alabama Conference of the United Methodist Church.
