Mary Patricia "Pat" Steele, 79, of Moulton, who died Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at NHC of Moulton, was born April 22, 1934 in San Angelo, Texas to J. W. and Billie Booth.

Mrs. Steele attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Moulton. She was inducted into the Pony of the Americas Hall of Fame in 1997 and operated KS's Pony Farm with her husband, Kenneth, for over 50 years. Pat served on numerous national committees, as officers of both Tennessee and Alabama State POA clubs, and supported her husband in his elected position as Southeast Region National for 25 years. During Kenneth's military service, Pat was a homemaker in Texas, Taiwan, Illinois, Burmuda and Nevada before settling in Lawrence County in 1972.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Leon Steele; one son, Kenneth William "Chip" and his wife Lisa, of Moulton; grandsons, Brad Steele and Scott Steele; daughter, Lydia Gove of Moulton; brother-in-law, Trillmon Steele & wife Carolyn, nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great niece and nephews; and dear friends across the country.
