Mrs. Mary Lou Richards, 88, of Florence, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009. Her family will receive friends from 1 - 3 pm on Monday with the service at 3 pm at Elkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Brian Jarrett will officiate.
Mary was of the Church of Christ faith.
Mrs. Richards is preceded in death by her husband, K.C. Richards; daughter, Margaret Hodges; grandson, Ray Hodges; brother, Markham Hayes; sisters, Flora Staggs and Elsie Poe.
She is survived by her son, Billy Ray Richards (Liz); daughter, Judy Lard (Robert); grandsons, Jimmy Bailes, Greg Richards; granddaughters, Trina Reynolds and Vanessa Keenum; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Velma Irons (W.L.).
Jimmy Bailes, Greg Richards, Kenneth Staggs, Harry Hayes, Jake Reynolds, and Johnny Keenum will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bartmess, hospice of the Tennessee Valley and, caregiver Linda. Special thanks to Cindy for her nursing care and Kerry with beautiful singing to our mother. The family would also like to give thanks to John Davis for coming to visit their mother.
