Mary Levolen "Robbins" Hice, 86, of Florence died Monday, March 10, 2014, at Florence Nursing and Rehab.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014, from 6-9 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 2 PM at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ and will lie in state from 12-2 PM, with Bro. Andy Erwin officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Mrs. Hice was a Christian and a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ. She loved the Lord, her family and friends, of which she had many. She was a wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was always thinking of others. She loved to play the harmonica, cook for her family and she loved to sit on a river bank and fish. She will be missed by family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
Mrs. Hice was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Hoover Hice; daughter, Barbara Jean Cooper; two sons-in-law, Glen Murphy, Jr. and James Rice; mother Martha Robbins; brothers, Walter Robbins, Clarence Robbins, and Ganes Robbins.
She is survived by her two daughters, Louise Rice and Shirley Murphy; son-in-law, Dale Cooper; 6 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; close friend, Joyce Robinson; grand-dogs, Mazie Girl, Scrappy Doo, and Eight Ball.
Pallbearers will be Doug Hice, Jimmy Ezell, Ron Blanton, Ray Hice, Ronald Hill, and Donald Robbins.
