The Lord called our mother home and she passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side, Thursday morning June 19, 2008 after a brief illness. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Wright United Methodist Church with Joel Caudle and Bro. Bobby Crosswhite officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Elkins funeral Home and then again at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
She was a devoted Christian and faithfully read her Bible daily. Her family was her life and she looked forward to their family gatherings. Her family loved her good home cooking, especially her chicken & dumplings and chocolate pie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Sharp who passed away in January 1999 and her son, Sammy Sharp who passed away in December 2005.
Survivors include her children, Doris Terrell and husband Bobby of Florence, Bobby Sharp, Tommy Sharp and wife Donna, Donnie Sharp and wife Penny, Lynn Sharp and wife Sandra all of Waterloo; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edwin White, Jack White, Joe White and Dan White all of Waterloo; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ty Watson, Regie Wood, Michael Price, Drew Holcombe, Adam Holcombe, and Dennis Barker.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Mitchell-Hollingsworth, especially Stations 4 & 6. They also would like to thank Hospice of the Tennessee Valley for their wonderful care.
Expressions of sympathy may also be made in loving memory of Nadine Sharp to the Wright Cemetery Fund.
