Obituary

Hatton Funeral for Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Craig Stokes will be Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Bro. Mark Wakefield, Bro. Kenneth Bond and Charles Brown officiating. Burial will be in Ferguson Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Stokes went home to be with her Lord at 3 a.m. Dec. 3, 2009. She was born June 2, 1934, in Colbert County to Leslie R. and Addie Grissom Craig. She was a loving and giving wife, mother and grandmother who spent countless years in service to her Lord, His church and her community. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jim Craig, and a great-granddaughter, Selina Rain Stokes. She is survived by her husband, James McCoy Stokes; two sons, Kenny Stokes and Cheri, and Perry Stokes and Tina; one daughter, Julia Stokes; two grandchildren, Jesse Stokes and Ashley, and Carla Stokes; three great-grandchildren, Jonah Lee Terry, and Mason and Kali Rose Stokes; brothers and sisters, Emma Gean and Talmadge Randolph, Clayton and Nelda Craig, Ray Craig, Nancy Faye Moore, Leslie (Lou) Craig, Sue and Norman Foust, Roy (Bill) and Teresa Craig and Joy and David Terry; and sister in-law, Elsie Craig.
