Mrs. Mary Frances Young, 86, of Florence, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-9pm at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral will be Thursday, at 3pm in the funeral home chapel officiated by Sonny Owens. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Mary was a member of the Petersville Church of Christ, and was well loved by everyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Starling Young; infant sons, Charles Ernest and David Earl Young; daughter, Shelby Young Miles; and son, Donnie Ray Young.
She is survived by her children, Pauline Barnett, Betty Gray (Charles), Kathy Jones, and Ricky Young (Audrey); 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to give a special thanks to the Petersville Church of Christ, Wiregrass Hospice, and Florence Nursing and Rehab for all of their care and help.
