Matthew C. "Matt" Miller, 50, of Decatur passed away on Sept. 16, 2012, at his mother's home. He was born in West Hempstead, N.Y., on October 21, 1961, to Hank and Sara Jane Kennedy Miller. Matt was a graduate of Decatur High School, attended Calhoun Community College, and during his stint in the Army he was an MP driver for a two star General in Germany. Matt was a jack of all trades and worked a variety of jobs; from a paperboy to a machine operator, from a nursing home manager to a real estate title searcher. He never met a stranger and always found a joke to share or a practical joke to pull. He had an infectious laugh and a memorable voice that would echo through the halls. He is survived by his mother, Sara Jane Kennedy Miller; sister, Linda S. Miller; daughter, Natasha "Tasha" Miller; son, Kennedy Miller; his special friend and companion, Hope Spray, and his "other brothers," Greg Scott and David Welsh. The celebration of life service will be Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at 4pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal, at 3809 Spring Avenue, SW, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
