Funeral for Mattie Virginia Daly Lonas Sharp, 94, of Decatur will be Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary McRae officiating. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Sharp, who died Monday, February 15, 2010 at River City Health and Rehabilitation, was born January 12, 1916 in Limestone County to George Trotter Daly and Bettye Powell Daly. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Decatur, a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and VFW Post 4190 . Survivors include Shirley Lonas Carnell; two grandchildren, Leah McRae (Jerry) and John Carnell (Cindy); and four great-grandchildren.
