. Maybelle Jackson Kiser, 82, of Florence, AL, passed away Friday, March 27, 2009. The funeral service will be Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 3:30 pm at Elkins Funeral Home with her burial following at Greenview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 until service time. The Rev. Jason Moore will officiate.
Mrs. Kiser was preceded in death by her husbands, Iral Jackson and Herman Kiser; three brothers; one sister; and her son-in-law, Mike Spain.
Maybelle is survived by her daughters Vicki Strickland (Bill) of Florence, and Linda Spain of Opelika; stepdaughters, Patty Abernathy (Mike) of Muscle Shoals, and Brenda Thornton (David) of Tuscumbia; grandchildren, Carrie Sanders (Kent), Allye Barnett (Doug), Rachel Robinson (Jason), and Jackson Spain (Holly); step-grandchildren, Chris, Karen, Michael, Brian, and Jeff; great-grandchildren, Ella Sanders, Walker Barnett, Davis Barnett, and expected baby Robinson.
She was a member of North Wood Methodist Church. She was retired from Sears and TVA. Maybelle loved to travel, was a loving mother to her children and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends.
Her family wish to give a special thanks to the staff of Southridge Place, Anita South and Scotty South.
