Rev. Melvin J. Harville Moulton
Funeral service for the Rev. Melvin J. Harville, 84, of Moulton will be Saturday, January 22, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Elliott Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Johnny Hood and Hatton Masonic Lodge No. 879 officiating. Burial will be in Rutherford Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Rev. Harville, who died Wednesday, January 19, 2011, was born September 7, 1926, in Lawrence County to Harvey Clark Harville and Annie Mae Thrasher Harville. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran. He was a member of the Hatton Masonic Lodge No. 879. Rev. Harville was a minister for 45 years and was retired from Reynolds Alloy. He loved gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Dorothy Harville; brothers, Nathan Harville and Lester "Shorty" Harville; and great-grandsons, Kirkland Stults and Devin Etheredge.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Harville; two sons, Alvin Harville of Moulton and Jason Harville (Amy) of Hatton; three daughters, Judy Lovelace of Florence, Dialla Ray (Robert) of Moulton and Jackie Owens (Ronald) of Mount Hope; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Condon Harville and Carmon Harville, both of Hatton, and Lunford Harville of Oklahoma; three stepsons, Kenneth Cooper of Hartselle, Charles Cooper (Audrey) of Cullman and Ted Cooper of Hartselle; and two stepdaughters, Amelia Smith of Decatur and Molly Duke (Eugene) of Hartselle.
Pallbearers will be Masons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Owens, Jamie Brewer, Brandon Speegle, Charles Cooper, Raymond Brewer and David Etheredge.
