A Celebration of Life for Michael Scott Hurd, 55 of Decatur will be on Saturday, December 16, at 2PM in the chapel of Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Sempsrott officiating.

Mr. Hurd was born May 26, 1962 in Escanaba, MI to Charley Frank and Geraldine Mae Burkart Hurd, Jr. He retired from GM after 31 years with the company.

Mr. Hurd is preceded in death by his father Charley Frank Hurd, Jr.

He is survived by his wife Trenia Hurd; mother Geraldine Hurd of Decatur; sister Charlene Johnson and husband Charles of Guntersville; brothers Robert Hurd and wife Colleen of Warrensburg, MO and Richard Hurd and wife Brenda of Escanaba, MI; nephew Dennis Johnson of Boaz; parents in-law William Paul and Vernice Parker of Decatur; stepchildren Heather Vinson of Baltimore, MD and Jared Vinson of Decatur; his beloved dog Weezy Bug; and his best friend LV Hall of Bankhead Forest.

The family will receive friends from 1PM until time of service at the funeral home. Roll Tide and Go Pack!
